Sunstein Series
The 2022 Sunstein Series is a season-long point series that will recognize points awarded by the PDGA to disc golfers for finishes in the MPO, FPO, MA1, and FA1 divisions for all PDGA sanctioned tournaments held within the state of Massachusetts between April 23, 2022 and September 30, 2022. At the end of the season, eight players in each division (MPO, FPO, MA1, and FA1) will qualify to play in the Massachusetts Grand Prix, a thirty-two player invitation only event.
There is no registration fee to participate in the 2022 Sunstein Series. Players who finish in the top 25 of their division in Massachusetts-based PDGA tournaments are automatically enrolled.
DGPT Green Mountain Championship Qualifier
New for this year, Sunstein is excited to be partnering up with the Disc Golf Pro Tour to provide 3 qualifying spots for the 2022 Discraft Green Mountain Championship, being hosted in Jeffersonville, VT from September 15-18, 2022. The top 2 MPO finishers at the Sunstein Open at 501, and the FPO winner of the Sunstein Open at 501, will qualify for the Discraft Green Mountain Championship. Qualifiers will still need to register for the event, however, the GMC will hold a spot for each Sunstein 501 qualifier.
Massachusetts Grand Prix
The Massachusetts Grand Prix will crown one winner in each of the MPO, FPO, MA1, and FA1 divisions in a stroke play event held at the world’s number one rated disc golf course, Maple Hill on October 22, 2022.
Thirty-two total invites will be made for this year-end tournament, and Sunstein LLP is guaranteeing a minimum of $2,500 cash to be added to the pro player purse. The winner of the MA1 and FA1 divisions will receive a championship belt, signifying their status as the 2022 champion amateur golfer of Massachusetts.
In addition to the Massachusetts Grand Prix, Sunstein is proud to sponsor three disc golf events this calendar year, each with added cash prizes.
The top five point-getters in MPO, FPO, MA1, and FA1 divisions (points qualifiers), and three automatic qualifiers, will be invited to the Massachusetts Grand Prix.
Automatic Qualifiers
The winners of the MPO, FPO, MA1, and FA1 divisions of the following tournaments will automatically qualify for the 2022 Massachusetts Grand Prix: Sunstein Open at 501, the Brewster Ridge Open, and the Rally of Rochester.
