Sunstein LLP is pleased to announce that partner and firm founder Bruce D. Sunstein was selected for the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly 2024 "Hall of Fame."

The "Hall of Fame" celebrates the achievements of legal luminaries and recognizes senior members of the bar for their career accomplishments, contributions to the development of law in Massachusetts, and efforts to improve the quality of justice. Honorees are selected by a panel of judges from the publication’s editorial and leadership teams.

Over the course of his five decades in practice, Bruce has enabled a wide range of enterprises to achieve dominant patent positions in their markets. Patents issuing on applications that he has handled have been enforced for 8- and 9-figure infringement recoveries. He is a patent and IP strategist for market leaders and start-ups in diverse industries, including computer hardware and software, electronic circuits and systems, communications and speech, medical devices, pharmaceuticals bioinformatics, and mechanical devices. He also is an experienced expert witness, and arbitrator, in IP disputes.

Bruce regularly speaks to national audiences on IP law and business strategy, and has authored numerous papers on IP matters. Further, since 2010, he has served as a mentor in MIT’s Venture Mentoring Service, providing MIT faculty, students, and alumni with advice and guidance on launching and nurturing start-ups, focusing primarily on IP-related issues.

In addition to this career distinction from Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, Bruce has been recognized for his IP work by IAM Patent 1000; Best Lawyers, and Super Lawyers.
