Inspired by color, shapes and forms, our 2020 feature artist John Guthrie’s passion for painting is reflective of our passion for law. Our in-depth and thoughtful approach to IP law parallels the deep-thinking Guthrie bring to the canvas.

Color is fundamental to a lot of my work and my whole concept and process. My whole career…I always wanted to do color that was…astonishing.
About the artist
Guthrie attended the University of Cincinnati where he studied Aerospace Engineering. He then changed gears and enrolled in Massachusetts College of Art to study painting. His dynamic work embodies both aspects of his consciousness: the precise and the lyrical.
Works by John Guthrie have been shown in many solo exhibitions, including Stonehill College, Easton, MA; Boston University Art Gallery Annex, Boston; Transit Gallery, Harvard University Medical School, Cambridge; and galleries throughout the northeast and Canada. Writings about his work have appeared in The Boston Globe, Design New England, Art New England and other publications.

Our firm also supports local artists by featuring their art in originally designed holiday cards. The Boston Bar Association featured our cards in its publication, "An Expression of Who We Are: Sunstein Raises Holiday Cards to an Art Form."
