Eric G. J. Kaviar is a litigation partner at Sunstein, and is skilled in resolving intellectual property disputes and counseling his clients on developing their IP portfolios. Through over 15 years of experience finding novel solutions to challenging problems, Eric understands that there isn’t a “one-size-fits-all" answer to his client’s legal needs. He believes that creativity is what distinguishes good results from great results. Eric applies such ingenuity to help his clients meet their goals; clients who range from entrepreneurs and start-up organizations to established international Fortune 500 companies.
His technical experience covers a wide array of subjects, including video gaming technology, voice over IP technology, content delivery networks, electrophoretic displays, suspended particle devices, optical equipment, point-of-sale devices, matrix displays, helmets, eyewear, adjustable bed frames, medical devices, and various types of software.
Eric is adept at handling all aspects of litigation, from pre-filling investigation through trial and appeal. He has litigated in many jurisdictions, including federal district courts across the country, the Federal Circuit, as well as state court cases in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Florida in addition to successfully trying a case in the Delaware Court of Chancery. Eric is also experienced litigating at the International Trade Commission.
