Alex focuses his practice primarily in patent prosecution matters for diverse industries including semiconductor devices, analog and digital circuit design, digital signal processing, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), medical implants, information systems, data storage devices, computer graphic systems, and telecommunications. He counsels clients in developing a comprehensive IP strategy including identification and protection of intellectual property, efficiently prosecuting patents to issuance.

Experience

  • Prepares and prosecutes U.S. and foreign patent applications in a wide variety of electrical, computer, medical, and Internet-related technologies. These technologies have included semiconductor devices, analog and digital circuit design, digital signal processing, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), medical implants, information systems, data storage devices, computer graphic systems, and telecommunications.
  • Develops intellectual property portfolios in both the United States and abroad.
  • Prior to his career as an attorney, worked in the defense industry as an electronics engineer and environmental liaison.

  • Member of the Boston Bar Association and Boston Patent Law Association.

Honors

  • Alex was named to the Rising Stars list in the practice area of Intellectual Property in 2015 in Massachusetts, a list limited to 2.5% of the outstanding emerging lawyers in the state who are age 40 and under, or have been practicing 10 years or less. The attorneys featured in Rising Stars were selected by their peers in an extensive nomination and polling process conducted by the research team at Super Lawyers, a service of Thomson Reuters and seen in a special advertising section in Boston magazine.
